A Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme generally aims to design the course with a blend of education coupled with industry learning. The entire course structure is apparently formed keeping in mind the conventional aspects of management learning with some spice of innovation being sprinkled as required.

The entire course structure is divided into compulsory aspects of management, which form the course curriculum for the first year mandatory for all students to go through, and optional subjects which are based on the selection of one of the various thrust areas of management as selected by students.

Thus, the first year of management education envisages covering the following key areas of management:

  • Building foundation on business formats, channels & processes, macroeconomic scenario, communications, and operations research.
  • Basic learning of various thrust areas of management education
  • Guidance on the selection of the right thrust area for the second year, given the aptitude and skill of each student
  • Understanding of the running of huge business houses and the strategies going into their sustenance
  • Sensitization towards the vision and mission statements of the companies and their relevance

The second year, on the other hand, presents the students with the opinion of selecting from among the following elective specialization areas of management:

  • Marketing Management
  • Management of Information Technology
  • Human Resource Management
